Our Program

Resident's length of stay: Varies by individual. Suggested stay is long –term. Time enough to get your life together. This is a residential program for women serious about recovery.

Intake and Screening: Each newcomer completes a psychosocial history, medical history, medical status exam and complete alcohol and drug history in addition to her initial urinalysis. (see what to bring – not to bring)

Phase I (0-30 days) – GraceWay residents have no contact with the outside world. Their day consists of a highly-structured living environment that includes eight hours of combined counseling, group sessions, individual planning and intense study and application of the Twelve Step Methodology. Each resident’s behavior is charted and evaluated by staff over a 24 hour period.

Phase II (31-60 days) – Residents continue their structured lifestyle and individualized recovery plan. Residents earn their first contact with “healthy” family members. This is limited to writing, receiving mail and telephone privileges with staff approval. Families are required to attend a minimum of six Al-Anon meetings in preparation for their first family workshop and visitation.

Phase III (61-120 days) – Residents continue their intense recovery plan and begin to attend outside Twelve Step Meetings with appointed GraceWay staff. Residents are required to complete 20 hours of volunteer work and begin applications and resumes to begin school and/or work during this phase.

Phase IV (121 days – TERM) - Residents continue their updated recovery plan and are required to locate work so they pay all current financial obligations and maintain a savings account. The monthly residential fee is reduced when employment begins. Past legal obligations must begin to be satisfied in this phase. Residents may attend outside meetings and may be eligible for therapeutic leave on weekends, with prior staff approval. Residents are randomly drug tested throughout their stay and must maintain daily contact with their sponsor and staff.

Phase V (of GraceWay’s Recovery Community is an option to live at “The Way” Sober-Living Transition Housing) – Sober-living Apartment rentals are available for eligible residents “graduating” to increased independence requiring affordable transitional living/ halfway house-like accommodations. Transitional residents occupy nine 2 bedroom beautiful fully furnished apartments while they continue their personalized ongoing recovery program. This halfway house environment allows appropriate residents to be reunited with their children, attend school and work in the community while maintaining close ties to the GraceWay Recovery community and mentoring newcomers. In May 2009 GraceWay welcomed non-GraceWay residents to join our sober-living Transitional Apartments at The Way. Call 229-446-4550 for more info on availability.

Phase VI (After Care) - Those residents who have completed the residential program and maintain sobriety are eligible to attend selected group sessions at GraceWay and will be given a suggested individualized recovery maintenance plan. After Care participants mentor and/or sponsor newcomers and maintain active meeting attendance. Sobriety birthdays, anniversaries and holidays offer invitations to reunite with GraceWay friends/staff.
