GraceWay is a 501(C)(3) non-profit, faith based, long term substance abuse treatment community for women. Graceway provides a spiritual home environment that empowers residents to become productive members of their families and society through intensive application of the Twelve-Step methodology.

Frequently Asked Questions  

1. How long do I have to stay?
A minimum commitment of six months is suggested. Each resident's recovery plan is individualized based on need.

2. Where is it?
GraceWay is located in the heart of downtown Albany, GA in SW Georgia. It is located in a stately Victorian home and is listed in the Register of Historic Properties. It is within walking distance of hospitals, legal offices, churches and employment opportunities and public transportation.

3. How much does it cost?
The residential program costs $2,250 per month for the first three months. After that, each resident is required to go to work to help offset her fees. GraceWay is a non-profit 501( c) (3) and accepts charitable contributions and sponsorships to offset expense. We promote personal accountability.

4. Do you accept insurance?
No. You must contact your insurance company for specific plan details. Insurance companies have previously paid claims after the insured has contacted them for arrangements.

5. May I smoke?
Smoking is allowed outside at designated times in designated areas.

6. How many residents live there?
GraceWay accommodates up to 15 women that are seriously seeking long-term sobriety by working an intense recovery program.

7. Is the facility staffed?
GraceWay provides 24 hour staffing 365 days per year.

8. What is your relapse policy?
We conduct random drug screens and have ZERO tolerance for relapse. If there is any indication of alcohol or drugs the resident will be released immediately and appropriate authorities will be notified. No readmission - no revolving door.

9. Can I bring my kids?
Not, at first. The focus at GraceWay is on each woman's healing and recovery. Visitations are permitted upon staff approval. Upon successful completion of the residential program, opportunities may exist for a resident to be reunited with her children in "The Way" Transitional Living Apartments located next door.

10. Can I still take my medications?
GraceWay is a sober-living residence. No mind-altering medications are permitted. Other prescribed medications for chronic conditions are allowed.

11. Do you accept pregnant women?
Yes.

12. I see you are faith-based. Are you run by a church?
GraceWay is a faith-based program. We are not affiliated with any particular religion. We employ the spiritual principles of the Twelve Step methodology, not religious doctrine or affiliation. Residents are encouraged to seek their Higher Power or the God of their understanding. There are no religious requirements for admissions, stay or exiting criteria. GraceWay is non-discriminatory.
